Spritztube

Spritztube® tracheal tube is a revolutionary device patented by Med Europe, available in disposable PVC version, and re-sterilizable medical grade silicone version.

It is an extraglottic airway device designed to ventilate as well as to permit tracheal intubation, increasing ease of use and success rate for the operators and improving safety of the patients, both in emergency settings and in elective surgery. It’s possible thanks to the patented flexibility of its design. It consists of a unique silicone (or disposable PVC) tube with two separate cuffs, one proximal (oropharyngeal) and one distal (esophageal), linked to the tube by a flexible tab and easily removable when not needed.

In order to comply with the existing EU regulations regarding product quality control, we kindly ask our customers who have used the above mentioned product to leave a feedback below. Your personal data will be processed according to our Privacy Policy that we assume you already have given your consent to. Any comment you leave below will not be visible publicly and will only be used for our internal quality management procedures. Thank you for your cooperation!

With both cuffs inflated, Spritztube® works as an extraglottic airway device and ensures the patient’s ventilation, giving the anaesthesiologist time to evaluate the next steps. If the intubation is required, the proximal cuff is deflated, and Spritztube® is advanced through the glottis with the laryngoscope guidance or thanks to the use of fiberscope, which can be inserted directly through the Spritztube®, without stopping the ventilation.

Any existing intubation technique is possible, depending on the operator’s preference and skill level. This implicates that the intubation maneuvers are simplified, since they don’t require additional external endotracheal tube or tube exchange procedures. In fact Spritztube® is the only existing device capable of turning from extraglottic to intraglottic because it itself acts as an endotracheal tube.
